BlockGPT started with a simple idea: describe what you want, get a Minecraft schematic. That core experience isn't going anywhere, but we're building much more on top of it.
Here's what's coming.

Better Models, Better Builds
The AI models powering BlockGPT are constantly improving. Every generation teaches us something new about what works and what doesn't.
Upcoming model improvements include:
- Higher detail at larger scales - Complex structures that maintain quality across hundreds of blocks
- Better material selection - More accurate block choices that match your descriptions
- Improved interiors - Functional spaces inside buildings, not just exteriors
- Character generation - Statues, figures, and iconic characters rendered in blocks (like the Batman above)
We're not just making the AI faster. We're making it smarter. The goal is builds that need less manual adjustment after import.
Visual Scripting for Minecraft Mods
This is the big one.
We're building a visual scripting tool that lets you create Minecraft mods without writing code. Think Unreal Engine's Blueprint system, but for Minecraft.

How It Works
Instead of writing Java or learning modding frameworks, you connect visual nodes to define behavior:
- Trigger nodes - "On Right Click", "On Block Break", "On Entity Hit"
- Action nodes - "Play Sound", "Spawn Particle", "Damage Entity", "Give Item"
- Logic nodes - Conditions, loops, variables, math operations
- Data nodes - Player info, world data, item properties
Connect them together, set your parameters, and export a working mod.
What You Can Create
The visual scripting system supports:
- Custom items - Weapons, tools, food, magical artifacts
- Custom blocks - Interactive blocks with unique behaviors
- Game mechanics - New gameplay systems and interactions
- Sound and particles - Audio and visual effects tied to events
In the screenshot above, you can see a simple gun item being created. On right click, it plays a sound, raycasts to find what you're aiming at, and damages the target entity. No code required.
Why Visual Scripting?
Traditional Minecraft modding has a steep learning curve. You need to understand Java, set up a development environment, learn the Forge or Fabric APIs, and debug cryptic errors.
Visual scripting removes those barriers. If you can think through the logic ("when this happens, do that"), you can create a mod.
This doesn't replace code-based modding for complex projects. But for custom items, simple mechanics, and quick prototypes, it's faster and more accessible.
Combining Generation and Scripting
The real power comes from combining schematic generation with visual scripting.
Imagine this workflow:
- Generate a medieval castle with BlockGPT
- Create a custom "throne" block that triggers a sound and particle effect when a player sits
- Design a "royal scepter" item that opens hidden doors
- Export everything as a complete mod package
You're not just building structures anymore. You're building experiences.
Can You Guess What I'm Building?
We're always experimenting with new generation capabilities. Here's a work in progress:

Timeline
We don't give specific dates. Things change, and we'd rather ship quality than rush. But here's the rough order:
- Model improvements - Rolling out continuously
- Visual scripting beta - Coming soon for Pro users
- Public visual scripting - After beta feedback is incorporated
- Combined workflows - Generation + scripting in one interface
Pro subscribers will get early access to new features as they're ready for testing.
Try What's Available Now
While we build the future, the current generator is fully functional:
- Generate buildings, vehicles, characters, and more
- Download real
.schemfiles - Import directly into Minecraft with WorldEdit or Litematica
No waiting required. Start generating now.
