The tower rises with an almost impossible scale, a colossal stepped structure of pale sun-baked stone, widening massively at the bottom and tightening as it climbs into the sky. Its form is both geometric and organic: each tier is carefully ordered, yet the entire building seems to twist upward in a single continuous motion. A broad spiral ramp wraps around it from base to summit, circling the tower again and again like a carved ribbon of masonry, making the whole structure look as though it is slowly winding itself toward heaven. The lowest levels are immense and fortress-like, built from enormous blocks in warm tones of limestone, sandstone, and dusty beige clay, their surfaces dulled by heat, wind, and age.
