The overall design is best describe...
The overall design is best described as a grand Gothic alpine fortress-palace, combining elements of a medieval castle, cathedral, mountain citadel, and fantasy royal residence. Its most important visual characteristic is that the architecture and mountain are treated as one composition. Towers occupy natural peaks, walls trace ridgelines, bridges cross ravines, and the lower architecture is embedded directly into exposed stone. Rather than placing a castle on top of a mountain, the design effectively turns the entire upper mountain into the castle's foundation and defensive structure.
