Include storage, an armory, workshop and living quarters integrated into the forge. Make it ancient, brutal, industrial and heavily used, with multiple levels, bridges, towers, cracks and lava leaks. Avoid making it look like a generic Nether castle. Maximum size: 70×70 blocks and 50 blocks tall. Keep it achievable as a survival project.
